Position at D1 Pittsburgh:  D1 Head Coach

John Rossmiller is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS) and a Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM-PES).  He has over 10 years of experience as a performance coach athletes of all levels and special populations for Velocity Sports Performance, Robert Morris football, private training, and 75th Ranger Regiment to include  6 years of experience training Special Operations soldiers.  He is employs effective mental coaching techniques designed to target the specific needs of the individual to maximize their potential.

 

Career Highlights

  • Created a performance training protocol for the 75th Ranger Regiments Best Ranger Competition competitors of 2011, directly contributing to the placement of 3 teams in the top 5, 5 teams in the top 10, and the first time that all 75th Ranger Regiment teams (7 total) had completed the 60 hour non-stop competition.
  • Developed and implemented a multi-phased physical training program for a Regiment of approximately 4000 Army Rangers that prepared them for combat operations in various challenging and austere environments.
  • Modified and refined the practical portion for the Mobile Training Team (MTT) for other unit soldiers to learn the methodologies and techniques of the RAW program.
  • Developed and implemented training programs for Rangers with specific needs; to include soldiers at the pre-assessment and selection phase, Rangers on long term travel orders and/or in austere environments, post-injury and wounded Rangers, and Rangers preparing for assessment and selection to Special Mission Units.
  • Lead Instructor for all practical sessions of the Mobile Training Team, training over 90 NCO’s and junior Officers during two Mobile Training Events.
  • Trained a Robert Morris’ I-AA football team in 2006, improving the mechanics, technique, strength, speed and power of all positions on the team.
  • As a Performance Coach for Velocity Sports Performance trained teams, student athletes, individual professionals, and youths in running and lifting mechanics, speed, agility, strength and power, specific to their sport.  He also refined and developed the Velocity Sports training system in order to further maximize each athlete’s development and successes.
  • Fitness advisor on KDKA-TV Pittsburgh Morning Show.
  • Consultant for BNY Mellon Health and Wellness department.

Adam Rusiewicz

Coach Adam Rusiewicz

A – minor pro hockey player and NCAA hockey player, BS in Kinesiology from SUNY Cortland.  Strength and Conditioning Intern at Cornell University.  Head instructor for Pro Ambitions Hockey, largest youth hockey company in North America, for 5 years.  He has experience training athletes of all levels and age ranges, youth from 5 years of age to college/professional athletes.  He specializes in movement quality in conjunction with injury prevention, as well as strength and power development.
